MAPO Fair & Exhibition - April 2008

I was the official photographer for this event in KLCC for 3 years in a row. This event was organized by the Malaysian Association of Practising Options (MAPO) for their MAPO Fair & Annual Dinner held in KLCC.

Every year I met celebrities such as Ku Ting Lok, Amy aka Search, Daniel (Malaysia Idol winner) and actor/actresses from Malaysia & Singapore promoting the latest eyewear to MAPO's strong 3,000+ members from all over the country. This year's guest of honour was the new Health Ministry of Malaysia - YBhg Datuk Liow Tiong Lai.

Here's some shots taken during the annual dinner.

Do I Crop My Photos?

Do I crop the photographs I took for weddings? Answer is NO. I find that once you crop the images to the size or look that you want, it makes the picture to be less original.

When I was taking sports photographs in college, especially those in NCAA track & field, we have no chance of cropping the images when we first print it out in black & white. I used a Nikon F3 with ILFORD Black & White film (ISO 400) and we push the ISO to 1600 to shoot sports in the indoor dome (track & field stadium). The results came out amazing. Noise wasn't that bad. The pics was developed in it's original state and we sent it to our editor for approval in publishing the images in the local university newspaper.

So, the answer is "NO". I don't crop any of my images taken for all my clients. :o)
That's my habit to perfection. Say "NO" to cropping.

Avans & Amy Wedding Day - 10 May 2008 (Petaling Jaya)

Lately I come to realize that I have spoken and met new friends in the same industry. Also, there are some whom I can call "friend"... and some of whom I cannot mix with. It's amazing though, in life, we always met with obstacles and sometimes I have to forgo friendship in order to save others. I am sure some of you could have felt the same way too... and sometimes it doesn't happen to you at all.

Even when I am down, I have clients who have been supportive of me and thus, recommended me a lot of clients. One of them are friends of Low & Ming Yan. I don't know what to say but they have been recommending me at least 3 or 4 friends this year and more recommendations are on the way! Thanks a lot to Low & Ming Yan. I owe you all, my previous clients many many thanks!

Last weekend on the 10th was the best day for Avans Kow. I remembered the first time Avans and his bride-to-be, Amy, came to my office to see me. I knew what he wanted and he likes my work very much. Avans... here you go! Some of my masterpiece.

As I promised to some of my future clients, more great works are on the way!
