Lam Sum & Hong Ling Wedding Day - 18 November 2007

Hong Ling, the bride engaged me through recommendation from her friend's friend who got married last year in September. She got me without further hesitation and being the preferred photographer for her wedding, I am flattered.

Her hubby, Lum Sum caught me by surprise when he arrived that morning. See what was he wearing... and, he's 6 feet 2!!!!! He's tall! Anyway, see how he dressed up to pick up his "lou poh"! Allycats style! Yeah yeah... macho macho man!

It was an amazing nite and a great slideshow being show at the wedding dinner. Hope all of you enjoy the pics below. And, if you wished to view the slideshow of the day, please swing by my office in Bandar Sunway ya! Sure you will have a great laugh!!! Haha...

Raymond & Shirnita Wedding Day - October 20, 2007

Hello friends! I have been taking a number of christian weddings lately and these are the images taken on Oct 20, 2007, making these pictures as nostalgic as possible. The environment, the people, the lighting @ the church (Zion Church, Brickfields) and the wedding dinner ballroom (Royal Selangor Club, Kuala Lumpur) has been a different ball game altogether. I have to admit that it wasn't easy to take these pictures because of its different ambience compared to many other weddings I have taken this year.

Shirnita, the youngest daughter of Y Bhg Dato' R Yogeswaran (all national hockey players should know him) got married and being the official photographer, this has been a great burden for me as the lighting condition in the room of the bride, the church and the ballroom is very challenging. As you can see, making candid shoots is never easy. You really need the experience, the equipment and also the "eye" for these kind of shots.

I am so glad that the shots are came out good. To add more "ummph" in the images, I turn into a nostalgic feels (hope you know what it means) by creating the ambience, the focus on both couples especially at the wedding dinner. This takes a lot of hard work and I do hope all of you who reads my blog would agree that these images are taken at a higher level of photography : a combination of photojournalism with candid. FYI, I was a sports photographer for University of South Dakota (USA) for the university newspaper called The Volante. I shoots mostly on B & W using Ilford Films using the old Nikon F3 & F4 covering the NCAA (called N.. C... double A) Division for American football and indoor track & field from 1995-1996. This gave me the edge over others who came out doing wedding photography without having any experience as photojournalist overseas.

Ah! back to Raymond & Shirnita. It feels great to have these pictures taken with passion that last a lifetime memories for these couples and for myself as well. I love these pictures as much as those who enjoys it! Thanks & God bless!

Peter & Christina Wedding Dinner - JB (Johor) on 11.11.07

11.11.2007 is a happening date for chinese wedding. After Yee Chian & Shing Yen's wedding luncheon (Sea View Restraurant - in front of Crystal Inn), I went back and start to head down to JB for Peter & Chris wedding dinner @ King Crab Restaurant at Tebrau City, Johor Bahru. Can you see those body art on Chris's body? Is this a new trend from JB/S'pore? (I think so...) Nice isn't it?

Yee Chian & Shing Yen's Wedding Day - Batu Pahat (Johor) on 11.11.07

After Tze Keat & Shir Li's wedding dinner that ends @ 11PM, I rush home and out again driving down south to a nice little town called Batu Pahat in Johor. Anyone knows the history of Batu Pahat? There's a well @ Minyak Beku called Perigi Batu Pahat and that's how the history started. More details? will explain later... Hehe...

Ah! Shing Yen has been so worried about her wedding day since she engaged me months ago. There's no perfect wedding, of course but the best we can do is to capture those wonderful moments which they do not expect. Expect the unexpected is the key to a great day! :o)

I reached Batu Pahat early in the morning... like err... 3.30AM and slept for like 1 hour before I head to Shing Yen's house, about 5 mins away from where I stayed. I was there @ 5.35am and you know what? that was very early for a typical chinese wedding. So, don't be surprised ya!

Hope you guys like the pics too. My next posting, you will see the place where I stayed. A nice house sitting on a 30-acre vegetable plantation land with a huge "kolam" in front of it. Stay tune!

Tze Keat & Shir Li Wedding Day on 10 Nov 2007

It was an amazing weekend last weekend. Tze Keat & Shir Li's most memorable day was last Saturday. The bridegroom sang a song that touches the bride's heard... and she cried! Wow! How touching!

Having attended this wedding, the pics taken by myself gave me the edge over other photographers as I am able to express the moments and feelings that many brides-to-be never felt before through these wonderful pictures. I am very sure many of the readers do agree that all these pictures are different from other amateur or other actual wedding day professional photographers as this depicts another level of photography - a combination of photo journalism with artistic composition. Hearing comments from others gave me the motivation to continue taking amazing pictures to share with others as well as making wonderful memories that touches everyones heart.

The Malay Mail - 9 Nov 2007

Hi folks! this is Lynette Mok from the pre-wedding pic I took in Mabul Island, off Sabah coast. Both CS Wong & I flew there with two assistants to take pics of her pre-wedding. You may view her pre-wedding pics in my website - www.my-weddingphotographer.com

Today's paper came out with an ad of her wearing De Kenner brand designer gown which I loan it from them. This pic was taken by CS Wong.

If you guys don't know De Kenner, go to www.dekenner.com or visit their boutique at Jalan Maarof, Bangsar (next to Mini Cooper showroom).

Ah, more pics of her will appear in magazines (eg. Cosmopolitan & Her World), and maybe more in newspaper ads.
