Kok Juinn & Stephanie, 19 January 2008 (Kuala Lumpur)
There's a few clients who asked me if I worked for De Casamia Bridal Gallery @ SS2, Petaling Jaya. I said "no". I'm an independent wedding day photographer whereby we have a team of photographers & videographers who work together to capture the memorable day for the couples.
As of to date, I have got 40 clients for this year! Amazing feat when this month (March) hasn't over yet and I have 40 clients for this year. Of course, this is through word-of-mouth and making sure my blog always constantly updated with new pictures. Some prospective clients look for a photographer who can take photographs but all my clients look for the expert :- professionals who take actual day wedding photography and I have done this for the past 13 years. All started when I was studying in the United States. Having shooting the first American wedding in De Moines, Iowa, this gave the edge over many photographers in Malaysia as I started with color films and B&W photography. Right now, eventhough we are in the era of digital photography, skills always comes into place. Without the skills of wedding photojournalism, the final work will not be like what you see in my blog today.
I stopped by Penang last Sunday after my trip to Langkawi and I went to this new mall in Penang. They had this bridal gallery exhibition at the concourse area. I stopped by two of the booths and did saw some of the actual wedding photographer's work. Frankly speaking, the work done wasn't that good as I thought as I do know that there are a few actual wedding day professionals in Penang but I didn't expect that the bridal gallery engaged freelancers who doesn't take good pictures at all. You can see dark shadows casting over the bride & the bridegroom faces and some of the albums shown were taken with "direct" flash. Those are like "point & shoot" pictures. End result is that you get oily faces.
Therefore, I'm glad that all my clients like my work as much as I do and hope all of you would enjoy and continue supporting me. Thank you!
Below are Kok Juinn & Stephanie's wedding day in January. I forgot to post this up to share with all of you. Too many work lately and I will face a huge crisis in September this year as there were like 7 couples that month. Holy moly! :o)
